Hilton Mystic announced that Johan Liebenberg is General Manager for the 184-room hotel in the heart of Mystic, Connecticut.
Liebenberg brings two decades of hospitality experience, including General Manager at Doubletree by Hilton, Bradley International Airport, Windsor Locks; Holiday Inn Hartford Downtown Area; Courtyard by Marriott Norwich; Radisson, New London; and SpringHill Suites by Marriott Waterford.
He has overseen all aspects of operations such as multi-million-dollar hotel renovations, contract negotiation with major airlines, and successful increases in annual hotel revenues.
Liebenberg has received the Mitchell College Distinguished Service Award; Most Improved RevPAR – SpringHill Suites; Aspire Award for Most Improved RevPAR within the Radisson brand; Housekeeping Team of the Year – SpringHill Suites; and the WHG Scholarship, Sinclair Culinary Award, and SAB Scholarship at Hotel School.
He earned his Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management and Business Administration from the University of Johannesburg and completed Training Management, Operational and Sales Courses through Hilton, Marriott, and Holiday Inn.
Liebenberg served on the Advisory Committee for Grasso Technical High School. He is Past Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Lodging Association.
He resides in Colchester, Conn.
