Lou Carrier Distinctive Hospitality GroupLou Carrier, President

Lou Carrier is President of Distinctive Hospitality Group (DHG). In this capacity, he is responsible for management, sales and marketing, operational and creative initiatives of the company along with its growth plans.

Prior to forming DHG, Carrier held senior organizational roles in the creation of the upscale Hard Rock hotel brand, including Executive Vice President of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, Managing Director in developing the Hard Rock Hotel, San Diego, and General Manager of the Hard Rock Hotel, Orlando.

Carrier was Chief Operating Officer in the creation of theWit Hotel brand, the AAA Four Diamond hotel concept, which successfully launched in Chicago in 2009. In 2009 he also launched the highly acclaimed BOKX 109 American Prime, his upscale modern American steakhouse concept in the Boston area.

He spent 8 years with Loews Hotels in Senior Management and regional roles, earning General Manager of the Year and Hotel of the Year distinctions, among others.

After completing his Hotel Administration education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he was recruited by Stouffer Hotels & Resorts for their flagship property, The Mayflower in Washington, DC, where he spent 9 years in progressive management positions. During his tenure with Stouffer and Renaissance Hotels and Resorts, he was recognized as Manager of the Year.

Carrier’s goal for DHG is to build a portfolio of 20 unique hotels over the coming years.

Judy Rosenthal Distinctive Hospitality group
Judy Rosenthal, Vice President of Operations

Judy Rosenthal has over 30 years of experience in hospitality. She oversees DHG portfolio hotels, working with the property based and corporate support teams to help each property to reach their potential in revenue generation, employee engagement, guest satisfaction, overall operational excellence and profitability. Rosenthal received a Bachelor of Science in Business from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

Jeff Foster, Director of Projects & Purchasing

Jeff Foster has over 30 years of experience in hospitality, holding both executive and management roles during his tenure. Foster oversees projects and procurement including budgeting, project management, preventative maintenance, extensive capital projects, PIP completion, life safety management and vendor negotiations for product and services.

Foster received a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Massachusetts.

Katy Shisler, Director of Administration

Katy Shisler has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality, working at both the property and corporate levels during her tenure. Shisler has key involvement in the reporting communications required of the brands, lenders, municipalities, and for new development/acquisition opportunities. Shisler is responsible for the administration of property insurances, employee benefits, 401K, and coordinates capital purchasing for the company portfolio. Prior to joining Distinctive, Shisler worked for The Peabody Hotel Group, Berkeley Hotels, Richfield Hospitality and Walt Disney World. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Florida State University.

Jennifer Kushner Pfeiffer, Director of Marketing

Jennifer Pfeiffer has more than 20 years of diverse hospitality experience in marketing, sales and event management. Pfeiffer oversees the print and digital communication and marketing activities for the properties and collaborates with our marketing partners to drive revenue, communicate effectively and increase awareness. Prior to joining DHG, she worked for Sodexo, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Westin Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Sheraton Hotels. Pfeiffer holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech with a minor in Communications.

Steve Dugas, Controller, CHAE

Steve Dugas is a Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) with over 20 years of experience in hospitality and accounting. In his current position, he oversees all financial aspects of Distinctive Hospitality Group. Dugas has key involvement in the directing, planning and coordination of financial activities for the Distinctive property portfolio. Dugas has been an active member of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals organization since 1997. Dugas received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts.

Andre Tamay, Director of IT

Andre Tamay has over 10 years of experience in hospitality and information technology. He oversees all technology for the DHG locations, including technology solutions, negotiations, installations, network security, operational support, acquisition due diligence, and systems maintenance and support. Prior to joining DHG, Tamay worked with the Peabody Hotel Group and the Hilton Corporation. Andre received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Newbury College.
